AMERY YOUTH HOCKEY ASSOCIATION
POLICY & PROCEDURE MANUAL

Policy/Procedure: RINK RATTING -- Policy U

Approved:  January 19, 1994,October 2005

The AYHA encourages the use of the Amery Ice Arena and the outdoor pleasure hockey rinks.

In an effort to promote more rink ratting and allow our association members the opportunity to use open ice time, the AYHA Board has approved The AYHA 10 Punch Cards.  When a member is interested in using some open ice time, they will be able to look at our Ice Rink Schedule located at http://www.pressenter.com/~ameryyha/ to find open ice times, and then contact our ice scheduler to reserve the time. When the members arrive at the rink their cards will be punched one time per skater, for every hour that they have reserved the ice. These cards will cost $30/card.  The cards are only required for the use of the indoor ice.  Use of the outdoor ice is free of charge.

It is the policy of AYHA that all hockey players under the age of 21 must wear a protective helmet when rink ratting at the ice arena.  Players still playing hockey for the Association are also required to have a face mask on their helmet.

When youngsters are rink ratting at the ice arena, an adult must be present to supervise activities.  For this policy, an adult will be considered to be anyone 18 or over who has completed their high school education.

The adult in charge will be required to insure that the ice is resurfaced and the arena is secured in accordance with hockey association policy R, prior to leaving the facility.
