Volunteer opportunities are many and varied. They include: house tour guides; receptionists/cashiers; research assistants; artifact collections; office assistants; gift shop assistants; gardening; computer data entry; publicity; actors (portraying historic characters); sewing and costume design; special event workers; and much more.
If you are interested in history and are available for as little as two hours a month please consider volunteering. Training is provided. Volunteers of all talents and abilities are needed and appreciated.

The St. Croix County Historical Society's headquarters are located within the Octagon House Museum complex at 1004 Third Street, Hudson, Wisconsin 54016.
Spring & Summer Tours: May through August, Wednesday - Saturday 12 to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 4:30 p.m. Fall Tours: September and October (weekends only), Saturday 12 to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 4:30 p.m. Winter Tours: Late November to mid-December (weekends only), Saturday 12 to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 4:30 p.m. The museum is resplendent with traditional Victorian holiday decorations during the winter holiday season.
The museum is closed on Mondays, however, the Research Center is staffed by volunteers on most Mondays throughout the year.
