MONTHLY MEETING

December 14, 2006

Pledge was recited by all present.

Ted Kornder called recessed meeting of November 9, 2006 to order at 7:00 p.m. on December 14, 2006.  Motion by Ted and seconded by Hubie to adjourn.  No discussion.  Motion carried by all.  Meeting adjourned at 7:01 p.m.

Ted Kornder called monthly meeting of December 14, 2006 to order at 7:01 p.m. 

Minutes of the last meeting of November 9, 2006 were reviewed.  No further discussion.   Motion by Les and seconded by Hubie to approve.  Motion carried by all.

Treasurer’s report:

Rae Ann Bohlman stated that in the month of November we had income of $4,831.26.  Balance of $547.09 in checking and $164,490.53 in savings.  Also have two $20,000.00 certificates at Community Bank Jordan and a $20,000 certificate at KleinBank Chaska.  Total $225,037.62.  The Certificate at Community Bank Jordan is renewing this month.  Rae went over rates.  Motion by Les and seconded by Ted to renew $20,000 certificate of deposit at Flagship Bank.  Interest will be credited to the savings account.  Motion carried by all.   Motion by Les and seconded by Ted to approve treasurer’s report.  No further discussion.  Motion carried.

Discussion – It was decided not to pay the Halling Engineering bill until we get an itemized statement.  Board also said to send the Scott County bill back to the county and do not pay.

Motion by Hubie and seconded by Les to approve bills to be paid.  No further discussion.  Motion carried.

Permits:

Anne Markfort and Larry Nelson – Motion by Les and seconded by Hubie to approve improvements per county codes and setbacks.  Motion carried by all.  Permit #A2-12-06.

New Business:

Scott County Police Report – Nothing out of the ordinary.

Municipal Development Group, Inc. – Belle Plaine Comp Plan – MDGI wants board to sign waiver.  Ted has asked to have a sit down meeting with them in the next few weeks.  No action to be taken as of right now.

2007 Seal Coating Bid/2007 Dust Coating Bid/2007 Crack Seal Bid – Put on next month’s agenda.

Workman’s Compensation Audit – Rae Ann to complete after year-end.

State of Minnesota – MN Township Finances – 2005 Revenues, Expenditures & Debt – for informational purposes. 

PERA – Contribution Rate Increases – for informational purposes.

2007 MN Association of Township Calendar – Gave copy to all board members.

Scott County Township Meeting – Monday, December 18, 2006, Scott County Law Enforcement Center at 6 p.m.

Local Board of Equalization Training Session – Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Medina Public Works Training Room.  Ted stated that he has already taken this training and it only needs to be taken every four years.

Old Business:

Annexation and developer’s agreement – Jordan has set January meeting dates for the next annexation meetings.  Nothing pending as of right now.

Township Right of Way Ordinance –  Tabled.

City of Belle Plaine update – The comp plan and upcoming meetings in the next three weeks as the City of Belle Plaine wants an annexation agreement in place before finalizing the comp plan.

City of Jordan updates – As above.

MN Dot updates – Nothing to update.

Township Road No. 57 Grant Update – $300,000 will be on the 2007 allocation list but it is not guaranteed.  Should know by February 1, 2007.  Ted to call Julie Carr about the railroad crossing.  Ted also got message from Dan Jobe that someone from the DNR is not sure how much more they want to put into this project.  Will get copies of all bills for Township 57 for the last two years.

Union Pacific Railroad – Roads look good.

Scenic Byways – tabled.

Road Maintenance Report –Other Business/Notices/Public Comments –

No further business to come before the meeting.  Motion by Hubie and seconded by Les to recess meeting to all other meetings for the next month.  No discussion.  Motion carried.
