Minutes
of the last meetings of December 8, 2005 were reviewed.

Treasurer’s
report:
Rae
Ann Bohlman stated that in the month of December we had income of $81,206.92.
Balance of $570.94 in checking and $259,878.88 in savings.
Also have a $20,703.36 certificate at State Bank of Belle Plaine, a
$20,000.00 certificate at Community Bank Jordan and a $20,000 certificate at
KleinBank Chaska. Total $321,153.18. The
State Bank of Belle Plaine certificate of deposit has come due today.
Motion by Les and seconded by Hubie to transfer this certificate to
Community Bank Jordan for a 12-month
certificate at 4.5% APY. Motion
carried by all. Motion by Ted and seconded by Hubie to approve treasurer’s
report. No further discussion.

annual audit date – Will have the meeting February 18, 2006 at 9 a.m. and
annual clean-up day.

Business:
Website
for St. Lawrence Township/Newsletter – Will look at on January 21st
when we have our workshop. This will
take place at 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the town hall.
Annexation
and developer’s agreement – On hold until new City Administrator comes on
board in Jordan.
Township
Right of Way Ordinance –Same as above.
City
of Belle Plaine update – Ted stated that they will try one more time to have a
meeting with Scott County, Belle Plaine, Belle Plaine Township and St. Lawrence
township to try to get an understanding about the detour out of Belle Plaine on
Old Highway 169. Meeting has not yet
been scheduled. Now is the time to
put a plan together prior to spring construction.
City
of Jordan updates – Received mailing from Cindy Geis from Scott County stating
that we had some back taxes due from City of Jordan for land that was annexed.
This states that St. Lawrence Township has money due from the City of
Jordan for annexed properties for the last five years.
This is something that we need to use when we are looking with the City
of Jordan agreements.
MN
Dot updates – No update.
Grant
Update – Dan Jobe told Ted today
that the Township needs to be in touch with the state.
Rae Ann stated that she has been in touch with the State of MN and they
will not fund a bridge for the railroad as they are expensive.
John Strohkirch stated that he has been involved with a couple of RR
crossings and a bridge will run into a lot of money.
E-mail attached. Want a
preliminary estimate of what is left and what it will cost.
Need to get a number asap. Now
need to meet with the engineer and see what we can do.
Union
Pacific Railroad – No update.
Scenic
Byways – Tabled.
Road Maintenance Report – Sioux Vista is in good
shape. Jim will watch.
Are cutting trees on 195th right now.
It really looks nice. Ted
stated that Scott County has kept up on the detour roads.
They are looking okay.
Other

Council State of the Region Meeting
–
Belle
Plaine Fire meeting on January 24th at 8 p.m.
Jordan
Fire meeting on January 25th at 7 p.m..
Randy Alt – Randy came to the meeting to discuss input with regards to putting up a shed. Would like to put up a 2400 sq. foot shed instead of a 1600 sq. foot shed. Board stated that they could approve it but it would be up to Scott County for the final say.
Halling
Engineering – Think about whether we want to stay with Halling or look for
another engineer. Need to first make
a phone call and see who is taking over Township Road #57.
Cannot wait until re-org meeting to change engineers if we are not
satisfied with Aaron’s replacement. Les,
Hubie and Ted to meet with Halling and determine what action we should take.
We need to take care of this yet.
2006
Workman’s Comp Audit – Motion by Ted and seconded by Les to approve audit
report that needs to be mailed in. Motion
carried by all.
