MONTHLY MEETING

January 8, 2009

 

Pledge was recited by all present.

Ted Kordner called recessed meeting of December 11, 2008 to order at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2009. Motion by Les and seconded by Hubie to adjourn. No discussion. Motion carried by all. Meeting adjourned at 7:02 p.m.

Minutes of the last meeting of December 11, 2008 were reviewed. Motion by Les and seconded by Hubie to approve. No discussion. Motion carried by all.

Treasurer’s Report:

Rae Ann Bohlman stated that in the month of December we had income of 83,184.58. Balance of $554.51 in checking and $277,035.30 in savings. Also have one $20,000.00 certificate at Flagship Bank and a $20,000.00 certificate at KleinBank Chaska. Total $317,589.81. Motion by Ted and seconded by Hubie to approve treasurer’s report. No further discussion. Motion carried by all.

New Business:

Scott County Police Report – Lots of vehicles in the ditch, one burglary, not much else.

Scott County – Resolution for Emergency Management Plan – This was tabled until next month so that we can find out more information. Mona to call Chris to get information. Board members can also bring this up at the Informational Workshop on the 21st of January.

Credit River Township – Informational Workshop – Wednesday, January 21st, 2009 at 5 p.m. All the supervisors plan to go.

Met Council – On-site Sewage Disposal System Survey – Send to Scott County.

Scott County – Property Management Portal live on January 9th – For informational purposes only.

PERA – PERA Annual Exclusion Report – All board members stated that they want to be excluded from PERA. Rae Ann will fill out and return.

Scott County – Changes in staff – For informational purposes only.

MN Association of Townships – 2009 Calendar – A copy was distributed to all board members.

CenterPoint Energy – Filing for increase in natural gas rates – For informational purposes only.

Northern States Power – Filing for increase in retail electric rates – For informational purposes only.

Set Annual Audit Meeting – The annual audit meeting was set for February 21, 2009 at 9 a.m.

Speed Study – Ted received the speed study for Township Road #57 and 185th Street. Need to get some additional feedback. Will review next month. Mona to call Sue Severson and let her know we got the speed study back.

Cap X2020 – Notice of filing – For informational purposes only.

 

Old business:

Annexation and developers agreement – tabled.

Township Right-of-way Ordinance – tabled.

City of Belle Plaine Update – New mayor and two new council members. Belle Plaine Farm Fire Association meeting is later this month.

City of Jordan Update – Open House for Ron Jabs and Barry Ahlman on January 15th for their services over the years.

MN Dot Update – Speed study as noted above.

Grant Update – Township Road #57 – City of Belle Plaine and City of Jordan and other municipalities should have planned projects according to O’Bama. Ted would like to throw this back to the state and see if we can finish. Supervisors will talk with other townships and see what their thought are.

Union Pacific Railroad – tabled.

Scenic Byways – tabled.

Road Maintenance Report – Roads have some icy spots - not much we can do except more salt/sand and maybe some chips.

Les stated that an individual was tearing up the township roads went to court on 11/24/08. If we want to file a complaint we can but he will be doing community service work. Les will respond that there will be no restitution due to the township.

Other Business/Notices/Public Comments:

Dennis and Hannah Orlow were present to observe. Hannah is working on obtaining a schlorship from the township association and is putting together a presentation. She had some questions for the board and we answered them as much as we could and also gave her some additional information.

No further business to come before the meeting. Motion by Hubie and seconded by Les to recess meeting to all other meetings for the next month. No discussion. Motion carried by all. Meeting recessed at 8:05 p.m.
