MONTHLY MEETING

March 8, 2007

 

Pledge was recited by all present.

 

Ted Kornder called recessed meeting of February 8, 2007 to order at 7:09 p.m. on March 8, 2007.  Motion by Hubie and seconded by Ted to adjourn.  No discussion.  Motion carried by all.  Meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m.

Minutes of the last meeting of February 8, 2007 were reviewed.  Motion by Hubie and seconded by Ted to approve.  Motion carried by all.

 

Treasurer’s report:

 

Rae Ann Bohlman stated that in the month of February we had income of $1,030.74.  Balance of $511.56 in checking and $211,366.39 in savings.  Also have two $20,000.00 certificates at Flagship Bank fka Community Bank Jordan and a $20,000 certificate at KleinBank Chaska.  Total $271,877.95.   Motion by Hubie and seconded by Ted to approve treasurer’s report.  No further discussion.  Motion carried by all.

Motion by Hubie and seconded by Ted to approve bills to be paid.  No further discussion.  Motion carried by all.

 

Permits:

Ray Bohn came to ask questions about tearing a deck off of his house and whether a permit is required or not.  Board stated that deck came be tore off without a permit but any improvements that he will make will need a permit.  Also asked about his recycling and if there was any problem.  Board stated that there have no complaints. 

 

Wayne Blechinger – Permit to build two walkout decks off of the back of the house, 10 x 12 and 12 x 14.  Motion by Hubie and seconded by Ted to approve per county codes and setbacks.  Motion carried.  Permit #A2-1-07.

 

New Business:

Scott County Police Report – Rollover on Hwy. #169, horses out.  Nothing else major. 

 

Met Council – Comprehensive Plans – Informational purposes only.

 

Scott County – E-Gov with City View PreBuilts – Mona to attend meeting on March 14th.

 

Halling Engineering – Correspondence from MN DOT – For Informational purposes only.

 

Scott County – Knife River Corp – Portable Mixing plant meeting on March 13, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. at Scott County Government Center.

 

Township Officers Spring Short Courses – March 19 – April 6, 2007 – For Informational purposes only.

 

Scott County – Annual Utility Coordination Meeting – April 6, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Highway Maintenance Conference Room.

 

Notice of Local Board of Appeal & Equalization – April 19, 2007 at 7 p.m. at St. Lawrence Township Hall.  Ted stated that he got a call from Bob Schmitz and the classification of ag status for Sioux Vista has been removed from all parcels.  Bob called to give us a heads up and also stated that all ag and commercial land is taking a 30% hike. 

 

Scott County – Township Planning Area Meeting – April 19, 2007 – This will be changed as it is the same time as the above meeting.

 

City of Jordan – Used Aerial Fire Truck – For Informational Purposes only.

 

SCALE – Next meeting will be in April.  March meeting was cancelled.  River Crossing Coalition meeting will be on March 29, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Shakopee Police Department.

 

Old Business:

Annexation and developer’s agreement – An annexation proposal has been sent to City of Jordan.  No response yet.  This is the proposal that we will stay with.

 

Township Right of Way Ordinance –  Tabled.

 

City of Belle Plaine update – Will be involved a little with their comp plan.  Now that we have an annexation agreement sent to Jordan we can probably use the same one with Belle Plaine.

 

City of Jordan updates – As above.

 

MN Dot updates – Nothing.

 

Township Road No. 57 Grant Update – Rae Ann has not heard anything from John with regards to funds yet.

 

Union Pacific Railroad – Have not decided what to do with railroad yet.  Would have to find some outside funding to do anything and it’s not looking good.  Township would have to spend about $200,000 for this.    

 

Scenic Byways – Tabled.

 

Road Maintenance Report –

 

Jim tried to shear off some of the snow that is on the roads today.  May have some pretty messy stuff next week if it gets to 50 degrees.

 

Ted stated that Bob Ruppe sent an e-mail that he will send to Province on the River – Quest Development and Bridle Creek with regards to their signs.  Motion by Hubie and seconded by Ted to have Bob send these letters.  Motion carried.

 

Township elections will be held on Tuesday, March 13th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Annual meeting to follow. 

 

No further business to come before the meeting.  Motion by Hubie and seconded by Ted to recess meeting to all other meetings for the next month.  No discussion.  Motion carried.
