MONTHLY MEETING

March 9, 2006

 

Pledge was recited by all present.

 

Ted Kornder called recessed meeting of February 9, 2006 to order at 7:00 p.m. on March 9, 2006 .  Motion by Ted and seconded by Hubie to adjourn.  No discussion.  Motion carried by all.  Meeting adjourned at 7:01 p.m.

 

Ted Kornder called monthly meeting of March 9, 2006 to order at 7:01 p.m.  

 

Minutes of the last meetings of February 9, 2006 were reviewed.  No further discussion.   Motion by Hubie and seconded by Ted to approve.  Motion carried by all.

 

Treasurer’s report:

 

Rae Ann Bohlman stated that in the month of January we had income of $5,104.12.  Balance of $519.77 in checking and $251,745.85 in savings.  Also have two $20,000.00 certificates at Community Bank Jordan and a $20,000 certificate at KleinBank Chaska. Total $312,265.62.  Motion by Ted and seconded by Hubie to approve treasurer’s report.  No further discussion.  Motion carried by all.

Tom Braaten – Motion by Ted and seconded by Hubie to approve 26’ x 54’ detached garage per county codes and setbacks. No discussion.  Motion carried.  Permit #A2-1-06.

 

Scott/Carver Threshers – Ken Poppitz – Motion by Hubie and seconded by Ted to approve 3.2 Malt Liquor License for Scott-Carver Threshers.  No discussion.  Motion carried.   Two ayes, no nays.

 

Buffalo Bituminous – CUP for Schmitz Pit – Motion by Ted and seconded by Hubie to approve recommendation for Buffalo Bituminous to operate a portable bituminous asphalt plant in the north pit of the RJS property under the same terms as 2005.   No discussion.  Motion carried.

 

Frontier Communications – Application for Permit for Installation of Utilities on 195th Street west of Delaware Avenue .   Motion by Hubie and seconded by Ted to approve permit for work within the right-of-way.  Motion carried.

 

New Business:

Scott County Deputy John came to report events in St. Lawrence Township over the past month.  20 calls were made in the township the last month.  Daylight robberies are getting popular again the county so please lock your doors.

Old Business:

 

Annexation and developer’s agreement – Met with the Jordan City Council Monday night.  Came out of the meeting with Jordan pinned down to a timeframe of 90 days to either agree to an orderly annexation agreement and get it signed or agree not to have an orderly annexation agreement.

 

Township Right of Way Ordinance – This is with Bob Rupee and will get done at a workshop or brought along in with the annexation and developer’s agreement.

 

City of Belle Plaine update – St. Lawrence Township asked for a meeting with Scott County Highway on Thursday, February 23rd.  Had a meeting with our township, MN Dot, Scott County , City of Belle Plaine and Belle Plaine Township .  The purpose of the meeting was to try to do a cost share on Old Hwy. 169 which was not agreed on.  The five attendees could not come to an agreement to repair the road.  Still trying.

 

City of Jordan updates – Same as above with annexation.

 

MN Dot updates – Same as above with City of Belle Plaine .

 

Grant Update –  We have a remaining balance in the fund to probably take care of the paving project up to the railroad tracks.  Ted will talk with Dan Jobe tomorrow about getting the remainder of funds from DNR for the grant. 

 

Union Pacific Railroad – Waiting for Julie Carr.

 

Scenic Byways – Tabled.

 

Road Maintenance Report –

 

Will be out blading soon and have been doing tree trimming.  Will be doing the 195th Street project reconstructing the ditch.  Jim stated 218th Street is holding up pretty good – a little soft on the bottom but still good.

 

Other Business/Notices/Public Comments –

 

Jim Emmerich stated that by the road here on the corner it is starting to peel under from when they put the gas line in.
