Pledge was recited by all present.
Ted Kordner called recessed meeting of April 9, 2009 to order at 7:00 p.m. on May 14, 2009. Motion by Les and seconded by Hubie to adjourn. No discussion. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:01 p.m.
Ted Kornder called monthly meeting of May 14, 2009 to order at 7:02 p.m.
Minutes of the last meeting of April 9, 2009 were reviewed. Motion by Les and seconded by Hubie to approve. Discussion as follows. Ted asked if we got the Apple Orchard check for $2,500. Mona stated that no we have not. Ted asked about the Woodland Estates deal with regards to the money owed. Motion carried by all.
Minutes of the Re-Organizational Meeting of April 6th. Motion by Ted and seconded by Hubie to approve. No discussion. Motion carried by all.
Minutes of the Board of Appeal and Equalization Meeting of April 20th and Continuation of Local Board of Appeal and Equalization Meeting of May 5, 2009 were reviewed. Motion by Les and seconded by Hubie to approve. No discussion. Motion carried by all.
Treasurer’s Report:
Rae Ann Bohlman stated that in the month of April we had income of $229.63. Balance of $556.55 in checking and $263,419.53 in savings. Also have one $21,681.84 certificate at Flagship Bank and a $20,731.62 certificate at KleinBank Chaska. Total $306,389.54. Motion by Les and seconded by Hubie to approve treasurer’s report. No discussion. Motion carried by all.

Motion by Les and seconded by Hubie to approve bills to be paid. Discussion ensued about the payment to Halling Engineering of which we have not received the escrow account monies yet. Motion carried.
Permits:
Scott County Fair Board – Motion by Ted and seconded by Hubie to approve renewal of Liquor, Wine, Club or 3.2 License for Scott County Ag Society. No discussion. Motion carried. Les Quatmann abstained from voting.
New Business:
Scott County Police Report – Same stuff as usual. Couple of alarms and animal complaints with regards to 2 dogs attacking another dog. Pretty quiet.
Scott County Township Planning Area Meeting – Ted stated that the County Staff was very pleased that we had it at the town hall and super pleased that we had food and beverage. Good discussion and comments. Will continue to have these meetings probably quarterly.
Township Fire Departments – Meeting to discuss establishing a township fire department is set for Wednesday, May 20th at 7 p.m. at Spring Lake Township town hall. Supervisors felt that this was not in our best interest and will not attend this meeting.
Old business:
Assessor for our township – Discussed the information that Cindy Geis gave to Mona with regards to our assessing and the issues with Leo Anderly, the supervisors discussed several issues. Les stated that he wants some one that can answer questions at the meeting with regards to properties and Leo does not do that. Supervisors stated that it was their responsibility to make sure that the township was being assessed correctly and questions were not being answered. Motion by Les and seconded by Hubie to approve Scott County to do our assessing as of the 2009 year and continuing. No further discussion. Motion carried by all. Mona to call Cindy Geis at Scott County to get this set up. Ted to call Leo Anderly to let him know that he will not be assessing our township next year.
Orchard Properties, LLC – Did not receive $2,500 check for escrow account. Mona to send invoice.
Woodland Estates – Mona to call Ruppe to see what we can do and start the process.
ARRA Grant Money – This is the grant that was applied for to finish off Township Road #57. No response has been heard yet. Will be acted on at June 20th meeting.
Julie Carr from RR – Mona e-mailed her and let her know that we were not interested in this project the way they wanted to do it.
Social Host Ordinance – Because this was in the paper stating that this would be on our agenda, we again discussed this ordinance. Supervisors agreed again that we are not interested in implementing this at this time.
Annexation and developers agreement – tabled.
Township Right-of-way Ordinance – tabled.
City of Belle Plaine Update – Ted stated that on May 22nd there is a County Road 64/66 – Extension of County Road 8, meeting in Belle Plaine.
City of Jordan Update – No update.
MN Dot Update – Traffic study was done by MN Dot. Waiting for set of prints to be sent out to see if we can put the signs up. Mona will call Chad Erickson and see if we need to do something or when we can put the signs up. Mona called and talked to Chad and he said it is still on their desk and should be out in the next week or so. Have not seen it yet.
Ted asked who will put the signs up when we get this. Les said that there are other people besides Scott County that put signs up and we can sure have others do it if they don’t want to do it.
Township Road #57 – Grant has been applied for as noted above.
Scenic Byways – No update.
Road Maintenance Report –
Lot of good red rock and dust coating down. Really happy residents. Todd will be going out to put the loose rock back into the road. Les also stated that between the State Highway Patrol and the railroad, they did a dummy train down on County Road 9 and had the lights going and all persons that didn’t were pulled over.
Les stated that we need to look at ditch mowing and spraying. Ted said that they are supposed to be coming out and will be contacting us.
Ted had a question about the shed. Wanted to know if we should call Jeff Neisen about painting it to match the town hall. Yes, call Jeff and also have Jerry Neisen to spray the dandelions around the town hall. Need to find a permanent solution to the flowerbeds. Need to put something out there. Jim will talk with his father about the landscaping when he gets back into towns. Will also get together with the Emmerich’s to talk about the mowing, etc.

No further business to come before the meeting. Motion by Les and seconded by Hubie to recess meeting to all other meetings for the next month. No discussion. Motion carried by all. Meeting recessed at 8:06 p.m.
