Keith
and Michelle Hennen came to talk about the mailbox that was out of compliance.
The Hennen’s stated that it is not solid concrete and would break away
if hit by the snowplow. Jim Stang
stated that if it broke away, that is the biggest thing.
It was agreed that we would let it be and if there are any problems, let
them know.
Jeff
Hennen was present to talk about the non-wetland impact statement that the
township needs to sign stating they will not be disturbing any wetlands for the
Woodland Trails Estates Addition. It
was agreed by the town board to sign this agreement.
New
Business:
Belle
Plaine Township is present to discuss Old Highway 169 maintenance because of the
detours out of Belle Plaine. Belle
Plaine Township stated that MN Dot agreed to fix the potholes and the county
will put shoulders on the road and they will also put up 5-ton road signs.
This is not in writing but they have talked with Belle Plaine Township
about this. They would like Belle
Plaine Township and St. Lawrence Township to pay for the materials to shoulder
the road. They may also have the
county plow this road. If the county
does not plow, it will be taken care of as we normally do.
It was agreed by the townships to pay for the shoulder material.

Has not yet been adopted by the board.
City
of Belle Plaine update – We were in front of the city council Monday night
with regards to the old highway. Major
construction by Belle Plaine and Highway 169.
Because of the Highway 169 construction, Old Highway 169 Blvd, Goshen
Blvd and Park Blvd. South of 169 are being used as detours.
City
of Jordan updates – No response from Jordan.
MN
Dot updates – Nothing more than above.
Grant
Update – Nothing at this time. Need
to take into consideration that Aaron Halling is no longer with Halling
Engineering and we need to know who will carry on this project.
Rae Ann will e-mail Strolich at MN Dot and let him know that Aaron is no
longer with Halling and see what affects this will have on our project #57.
Union
Pacific Railroad – Have letter sent to the railroad requesting action on the
bridge. Railroad responded
that they would be willing to do 10%. Julie
Carr from MN Dot went back to the railroad stating that they would need to be
more of a player if this was to happen.
Scenic
Byways – Tabled.
Road
Maintenance Report – Les has been grading.
Need to have an understanding of where we are going to be at if the ridge
is still on Township #57 and the liability and responsibility if the road is not
finished. Ted to call Dan Jobe to
see where this project will be at and advise us as to what we are supposed to do
and our responsibility.
